Viva Florida 500 Celebration

Today at Heritage Village www.pinellascounty.org/heritage in Largo it is the Viva Florida 500 Celebration from Noon-4pm. The celebration marks the 500th Anniversary of Juan Ponce de Leon's arrival on Floridas east coast. There will be a special presentation of pre-Columbian pottery, family crafts, a time capsule dedication and storytelling. Heritage Village is a wonderful place to visit it has a large collection of local historic homes. Also right next door is the Florida Botanical Gardens www.flbg.org take a stroll and see all the beautiful foliage and flowers.
